Teaching in the Raja Yoga tradition, Roxanne Currie leads you through three yoga practices each encompassing light
stretching, breathing exercises (pranayama), and relaxation. Each of the three segments ends with lovely guided
relaxations -- just lie down, let your mind and imagination follow Roxanne's soothing voice, and you and your worries will be
transported away.
In the Morning Practice (14 minutes), you'll start with some gentle facial massages and loosening exercises, and finish
with the Morning guided relaxation to get you ready for the day.
The Midday Practice (12 minutes) helps you alleviate tension and reenergize for the rest of your day. It's especially good
for those who spend a lot of time sitting at a computer -- Roxanne takes you through some shoulder rolls and loosens up
your wrists and hands. When you get to the Midday guided relaxation, you'll enjoy the sounds (and scenery, if your eyes
are open) of a gorgeous waterfall.
In the Evening Practice (12 minutes), you'll start with some slow-paced sun salutations, then move into the Evening
pranayama and guided relaxation. It's the perfect ending to your day and helps you get ready for a good night's sleep.
Roxanne Currie has been practicing yoga for 40 years. She teaches this DVD as an introduction to Raja Yoga, which
emphasizes spiritual and mental health. In addition to the three practices on this DVD, there is also an Introduction
chapter in which Roxanne explains the purpose of each of the elements of the practice, and also teaches correct breathing.
